The high quality of chips being produced by Fulghum’s new line of woodyard chippers comes as no surprise to mill operators. For decades, the Fulghum name has been synonymous with the production of consistently uniform chips. Today, in answer to demands for the most robust equipment, Fulghum has designed and is manufacturing 120 inch and 144 inch chippers which carry on this tradition of quality in high volume woodyards.

Cost-effective operation is also synonymous with Fulghum and is continued in these largest Fulghum chippers. The chippers are fitted with the most extensive wear plates in the industry. Moreover, the wear plates and chip pocket inserts are replaceable at a fraction of the cost experienced with competitive equipment.

Other traditional Fulghum design advantages - such as the ease of onsite maintenance and knife adjustments - are here also, helping to make these models the most efficient chippers available.

CHIPPER DISK: Precision machined from ultrasonically tested steel meeting ASTM A-516-YR 90 Gr55 Standards; stress relieved, 12 inches in thickness.

SHAFT: FORGED STEEL, ASTM A-666-CL-L-MOD

 

REPLACEABLE DISC WEAR PLATES: Fully recessed disc wear plates provide unrivaled protection and economy. Chip pocket inserts offer additional disc protection. Chipper spout and housing are also protected by wear plates.

 

HEAVY DUTY SPOUTS: Either cast or maunfactured, both equipped with replaceable mouth wear liners.

 

MOTORS: Optional wound rotor or synchronous 2500 hp to 4000 hp

 

GEAR COUPLING: Direct coupling to custom-built motor or through reducer to multiple motors.

 

BRAKE and INDEXER: Hydraulic disc brake system; indexer provides easy disc maintenance and knife changing.

 

VERTICAL ANVIL: Four usable sides.

 

HORIZONTAL ANVIL: Two usable sides.

 

THRUST and RADIAL BEARINGS: Shear screw provides precise disc adjustment; safety in operation.

 

SAFETY FEATURES: Tapered shaft prevents knife/anvil contact; outer ring of disc encloses all disc hardware.

 

SLIVER REDUCER: Patented device provides additional anvil to reduce slivers.
