CONVEYING SYSTEMS

Belts, chains and vibrating conveyors are all in the array of conveying systems available from Fulghum Industries, suppliers of industrial materials handling equipment and specialists in forest products processing.

Fulghum belt conveyors transport wood chips quickly and efficiently from drum screen processing to rail and truck loadout operations. Automatic controls are installed in Fulghum designed systems now serving both woodyards and satellite mills.

Rugged Fulghum chain conveyor transport both logs and wood residues. A chain conveyor moves logs from a debarker discharge chute to a chipper infeed. In shortwood chip mills, deckwide configurations of these chain conveyors move logs on the live deck to the slasher line and through slasher processing.

Fulghum’s versatility in materials handling extends to many conveyor applications such as those assemblies to move bark and wood residues from a debarker line to truck loading. Fulghum designs and fabricates these assemblies and will install and startup systems.
Design simplicity and dependability have made Fulghum’s vibrating conveyors a most versatile piece of equipment. The conveyor is installed under a drum debarker where it transports bark and other wood residues to loadout. In other applications. the vibrating conveyor feeds trim blocks, edgings, and slabs to wood chippers. The vibrating conveyor is manufactured in two sizes: 18/27 inches wide by 9 inches deep and 24/33 inches wide by 9 inches deep. The conveyor is made of 1/4 inch steel plate. Movement is by an eccentric drive with spherical roller bearings on the eccentric shaft. The drive and flat springs are tuned so that the natural frequency of the conveyor is established.
